Support non-call-stack event visualization

After #117 is complete, then it would be useful to be able to visualize events that happen outside of the call-stack. This would e.g. allow for meaningful import of network events from Chrome profiles, and async event import from .trace files (#77).

e.g. here is Chrome developer tools showing a sampled CPU profile on synchronized time axes with network events
