anki-pao-bootstrap-style

This is a themed Anki template for memorizing PAO (person, action, objects) lists. The theme uses twitter bootstrap.

The cards aim to to follow the 20 rule of formulating knowledge . Namely (#4) minimum information principal, (#7) use imagery. They quiz you on the number, each P.A.O. element, the picture and your mnemonic, separately.

How to install

  1. Import the deck PAO_Bootstrap.apkg
  2. Copy the files within the media folder into your media.collections folder.
    • See this section of the Anki manual to find your collections.media folder.
    • On a mac it's in ~/Library/Application Support/Anki2
    • Only copy the individual files within media into media.collections. (I.e., don't drop the whole media folder into media.collections)

Tips

  • Create your deck and fill in the fields ...
  • Only put one picture in the "Picture" field.
  • Pictures with landscape orientation work best.
  • If using memory palace or method of loci (MOL), then (mentally) place and rehearse your palace beforehand each time you use anki.
