HTML Challenge Description:

This first challenge is to refactor existing code to meet accessibility standards for the marketing agency, Horiseon. The goal is to improve, but not change, the existing code so the webpage is optimized for search engines, meets accessibility standards, and is functioning correclty.

Improvements:

  • Improved HTML to follow a semantic structure
  • Consolidated elements in CSS to increase efficiency
  • Added comments in CSS
  • Fixed links in the navigation bar
  • Added title to display on webpage tab

Final Product

The final page appears the same as the original but with improved functionality. View full webpage here: https://jmotto.github.io/Accessibility-and-Refactoring/

Closing Thoughts

This was a fun challange. I enjoyed working through the code like a puzzle and organizing each section. I learned alot about the functionality of different elements and how to properly structure HTML and CSS files.
