Could you enable a way to increase the user session time so that they don't have to log in so often?

Question: Is it possible to have a persistent login option where you can close tab or navigate to a non-locked page and then back to the locked page and it remains logged in?

I think Kirby does this with the panel with a "keep me logged in" checkbox. You then enter how long the longsession should be in the config.

I have a client that is using it like an employee portal and they have to re-enter password constantly.
