Intent behind grid flow items?

@JohnAlbin: While working on the configurable margins issue, I've been having trouble understanding your intent behind the zen-grid-flow-item mixin. Can you provide some real world examples of when/how this might be used? I want to make sure the contributions I'm proposing take this into account appropriately.

I guess the difference is that "Grid items" are positioned exactly in the grid. Whereas flow items are items that are in the normal flow of the document and are given a width so that they align to the grid.
