I've tried to follow the instructions to make it work but failed. The following show the steps I've taken.

So, how can I make it work?

Hi @Alsan,

Hmm this is very curious. I am unable to reproduce the issue.
Could you please provide me the following:

  • version of fish shell and python
  • version of dtags (you can run dtags --version)
  • output of command dtags list
  • content of file /home/alsan/.dtags/mapping

Thanks!

Sorry, just out a couple of days. Here's what you're asking for:

Hi @Alsan

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I recently moved to a different city and was quite busy with the transition.

Unfortunately I am still unable to reproduce the issue. The only scenario I can think of this happening is as follows:

  • you tagged /home/alsan/Documents/projects/non-cmcc/gf/portal/portal as portal
  • the directory was somehow deleted (in another terminal session)
  • you tried to use the d command on tag portal, whose location does not exist anymore

If above was indeed the case (please let me know), then running dtags clean or the t command forces dtags to prune any invalid directories from its mapping.

No, that's not the case. As you can see, all the operations are in the same session, and that's my project source location, delete it? that will never be happen.

I might take some time to analysis the source if I can squeeze some spare time out of my work.

Ok let me know if you find out anything. I am guessing this could be something specific to the fish shell. I will continue to investigate. Thanks

I am still not able to reproduce the issue. @Alsan I am closing this for now. Feel free to reopen if you find out anything more.
