Fullscreen mode has changed entirely since 3.6 was released.

Flash is really picky. I can't even figure out how it tries to make a window
full
screen. The window disappears when you try to make it full screen for one of
two reasons:

1) it loses focus, or
2) it gets bigger than it would like.

I have no idea why it's so picky. If I try to make an applet full screen when I
have
a column in max mode, it doesn't like it. If I have it in stack mode, it's
fine. If
my browser is floating, I wind up with a small, useless window. I might have to
ask
around about this one.

Ok, it was a fairly simple fix.
