Start screen graphical glitches and performance issues are still present, but I'm no longer seeing the issue with heads being improperly rendered. Instead, there's an odd ghosting/shadow effect presumably related to depth of field, as seen to the left of the character below:

Not mentioned above, when starting the game, an error is shown in Japanese, seemingly related to HDD hardware not being emulated. To my knowledge, the game doesn't use the HDD, so this is a bit odd.

Tested on the libretro core on x86_64 Linux, commit jpd002/Play-@940b023.

EDIT: Per discussion on discord, the issue shown in the first image appears to be what the fbsampleclamp label is about, so that should likely be added to this game.

Things seem better. There are still performance issues, but they're better than I remember.
