search files with any or no extension

I'd like to use deft to search a folder containing eight years of plain text notes. The problem is that some have no file extension, and most have arbitrary extensions, for example: "smtp.att.email.setup"

It appears that there's no way to set deft-extensions to search for "any or no extension"

Is there some other way to do this?
