Sir,
very interesting code.
I have a Vue, and want to monitor my PG&E meter without going through the Emporia cloud.
I am not a programmer by trade, but can hack a bit.
Looks like your code reads the Vue wifi signal. Is that correct?
Does the Vue have to be 'connected' to Emporia to broadcast it's signal and meter information?
Quite curious here.

The code reads the serial data between the zigbee chip (the one that reads the meter) and the ESP32. This is esphome firmware which connects to many different services, commonly homeassistant.
