Interests not selected still appear when setting is on 'Only' show selected interests.
If intent is to still show a few interests not selected, you could change wording on setting to 'Mostly' show selected interests.
If Maven showing me not selected interests if there are no more interests then you could put in notice: "No more threads in your interests, showing you new interests.'
