Twitter Authentication:
1. Go to https://apps.twitter.com
2. Log in
* If you don't have an app already, click "Create New App" and proceed to step 3
* Otherwise, select your app and skip to step 4
3. Fill out the information and click "Create your Twitter application"
4. Click on the "Keys and Access Tokens" tab
5. Copy down the "Consumer Key (API Key)" and "Consumer Secret (API Secret)"
6. Scroll down to "Your Access Token"
* If you don't already have an access token, click "Create my access token"
7. Copy down the "Access Token" and "Access Token Secret"
For access to the Twitter API, you will need:
- Consumer Key (API Key)
- Consumer Secret (API Secret)
- Access Token
- Access Token Secret

Facebook Authentication:
1. Go to https://developers.facebook.com/apps/
2. Log in
* If you don't have an app already, click "Create New App" and proceed to step 3
* Otherwise, skip to step 5
3. In the top right corner, click the green button called "Add a New App"
4. Fill in the display name in the pop-up window and click "Create App ID"
5. In the left navigation bar, go to Settings > Basic
6. Copy down the "App ID" and "App Secret" (you might need to click "Show" to get this to appear)
7. Go to https://developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer/
8. In the top right corner, make sure that you select the app you just created in the "Application" dropdown menu
9. Below that, click "Get Token" > "Get User Access Token"
* In the "Select Permissions" dialog, MAKE SURE TO SELECT "read_insights" in the Other section, and feel free to
select anything else
10. Click "Get Access Token" and then click "Continue as (your name)" in the pop-up window and then click "OK" when
Facebook asks to access your Page and App Insights
11. Copy down the "Access Token" that is generated

LinkedIn Authentication:
1. Go to https://www.linkedin.com/secure/developer
2. Log in
* If you don't have an app already, click "Create Application" and proceed to step 3
* Otherwise, select your app and skip to step 4
3. Fill out the information and click "Submit"
4. Copy down the "Client ID" and "Client Secret"
5. Under "Default Application Permissions", select:
- r_basicprofile
- r_emailaddress
- rw_company_admin
6. Under "OAuth 2.0" > "Authorized Redirect URLs", enter "https://jos.com" and click "Add"
7. Click "Update" (MAKE SURE TO DO THIS)
8. Copy the below link into a web browser, replacing:
- {client_id} with the "Client ID" you copied in step 4
- {redirect_uri} with "https://jos.com"
https://www.linkedin.com/oauth/v2/authorization?response_type=code&client_id={client_id}&redirect_uri={redirect_uri}&state=AbCdEf123456
9. Press "Enter" or "Return" to go to that page
10. In the LinkedIn permissions window, click "Allow" and you should be redirected to the JOS homepage
11. Examine the URL. It should look something like:
https://jos.com/?code={some super long string of letters and numbers}&state=AbCdEf123456
12. Copy the {some super long string of letters and numbers}
13. Copy the below link into a web browser, replacing:
- {code} with {some super long string of letters and numbers} from step 11
- {redirect_uri} with https://jos.com
- {client_id} with the "Client ID" you copied in step 4
- {client_secret} with the "Client Secret" you copied in step 4
https://www.linkedin.com/oauth/v2/accessToken?grant_type=authorization_code&code={code}&redirect_uri={redirect_uri}&client_id={client_id}&client_secret={client_secret}
14. Press "Enter" or "Return" to go to that page
15. There should be a JSON-like object that is displayed in your browser window, something like:
{"access_token": {access_token},
"expires_in": {seconds_until_expiration}}
16. Copy down the {access_token}
For access to the LinkedIn API, you will need:
- Access Token
