Deleting Deprecated methods/clases ? #534

Would it be possible to make an entire cleanup on @deprecated in some of the future releases ?
If yes, then the version would have to be changed, which in maven terminology of versioning means version 5.x.

That would mean 5.x, indeed. My feeling so far has been that the pain of the deprecated API has not yet been great enough to overcome the pain that would come when developers find out the deprecated API is gone.
