Problem

It would be great if we could make this repo compatible with the Jupyter Releaser from the start: https://github.com/jupyter-server/jupyter_releaser

Proposed Solution

There is a checklist for adoption in the readme: https://github.com/jupyter-server/jupyter_releaser#checklist-for-adoption

Looking at the current state of the jupyverse repo, it looks like we would at least need:
