I was chatting with @emdupre and she mentioned it'd be cool if Jupyter Book allowed for more "publishing-style" content where you could cite work. I don't know that Markdown supports this natively, but there may be some jekyll plugins etc that could make this possible.

One example I found is this: https://github.com/inukshuk/jekyll-scholar but we should keep this issue to track anything new as we learn about it.

This is now implemented with jekyll scholar in #64 !
