Can I use Skin Variables to find just files with a key word or common extension? #672

You would have to have your directory structure as files without folders. SkinVariables is not reading the file path. This is happening via Kodi's JSON RPC, so it all looks the same to SkinVariables in terms of results returned -- it just looks like Kodi directories. And it'd be a bad idea to recursively enter directories -- slow for a start (imagine resursively searching all folders of an add-on!) and could cause a crash via an endless loop if a node contains a node which links back to the first. |

Conditions:
I am searching for files that are not added to the database because they are fresh / unprocessed media files.
I have folders of new media accessible as folders under videos.
All I am after is a widget that shows just the files based on a condition.
What I have so far:
For new UFC media, I have been able to create a skin variable that filters only on Title = UFC
looks like this...
The result is a list with the folders and I have to select the folder to see the mvk file.
The results I am seeking are just the files found with no folders and the thumbnail of the file if possible.
For another directory, I would like to find just files with an mkv file extension.
Thanks for any help.
