I have gathered all the visual assets for this video.

@aumi121 would you like to put this together?

Download Visual Assets
zip folder includes:

  • AI files for motion graphics, title screen, and a mockup of how full screen captures with their larger zoomed snippets should be assembled and positioned.
  • png files of captures, snippets, and browser bars.

here is an animation test i did
very basic just to get the idea across and to make sure the images weren't going to be too blurry. Feel free to do what whatever version of a scroll, highlight and zoom you think would be best. Transitions between captures are totally up to you as well.

Just make sure to keep all sizes as I have them. Highlights/underlines should be the primary blue.

Here's the script for you to follow

For the part about Dustorf rescinding support while fiach-dub gives support: can probably just put those two snippets side by side and hold there until after the next section about the large block of no votes.

Should have audio assets tomorrow.

Let me know if there are any questions.

Sure, would love to work on it. Please share the audio assets (voice over/bg) so that we can start working on the animations.

here are the audio assets:

download here
Contents:

  • pidi_016_vo.wav
  • pidi_016_music.wav
  • pidi_016_vo_music_mixed.wav

If when going through the process you feel as though you need more captures to fill time please make a request for them in a separate issue.

in reference to your draft:

Good start.

  1. Please don't change size or position of the graphics. They are sized and positioned to fall in line with the design guidelines and match the existing pi digest graphics.
  2. Please display the Pi logo throughout the video.
  3. for your graphic animations: They don't necessarily have to be timed with the voice over. just have the parts animate in and hold for the VO.
  4. Transitions: I think it would be best to stick to simple 3d flip in-out transitions. No zooming. If there are multiple elements on screen to be animated in or out do them as individual parts, don't animate the whole lot as one. Sliding animations could work as well but they should either come in from the closest edge of the frame or simply fade in and slide. For example: in the very beginning, the Pi logo could slide in from off screen left and the title could fade in and slide up from just below its final position. Alternatively they could both fade-and-3d-flip in, Pi logo flipping on the vertical axis, the title on the horizontal axis. Or the two can be combined and they can simultaneously flip while sliding. see animated iconset for inspiration #5 proposal icon is probably most relevant.
  5. For the section about the authors, please use the captured images of the medium article itself. Show the top section of the article with title, then scroll down to the about section at the bottom corresponding to the separate file. Animate in the enlarged version and highlight. (as I mentioned above if you feel we need additional graphics, please request them by creating a new issue in this repo e.g. "graphic with author names for digest 016")

All in all i would say don't focus too much on making things happen as they are said. Just animate them in - hold - animate out. Only parts that will really have to be timed are the scrolling of captures and the enlargement parts.

The scrolling of the captures could be an issue. The small text may cause anti-aliasing issues. In my test it seemed to look ok as long as the motion was fast enough so that there was a lot of blur. Thoughts on this? We may just have to animate them as individual pages instead of a single scroll, although I would prefer the scroll.

the section about the treasury is much too long. I will shorten it.

I understand most of your concerns and this has further reduced the complexity and time that was required to complete the video.
You are correct about the blur issue. We first used your file but when zoomed in, it starts pixelating. I think we are making it complex on our side and you seem to need a simple version of the video. Glad that we shared draft first before completing the entire video. Working on your feedback..

Thank you.
I have shared the second draft just to confirm if we completely followed your above feedback. Please confirm so that we can apply on the rest of the video..
