https://github.com/securesystemslab/zippy
zippy is also an effort to implement python 3.x on top of JVM.

May be, you people can formally invite them to join your team too
So that this port can be completed

zaxebo1, as far as I know, zippy requires GRAAL-VM, but it has been some time since I looked into it. I suspect that would imply too many compatibility issues.

okk :-( I just wanted somehow that the jython3 development team gets larger.
actually i would have loved to do something for this project, but i am too much into sysadmin shell scripting with python/jython, i have zero brain in language compiler/interpreter development. :-(

just on related note:

  1. anyway, by the current measures of progress in development, when can we expect the first alpha or beta release??

  2. why don't somebody makes a www.patreon.com page for jython3 development , so that one or two hired developers can work "fulltime" developing jython3. I would love to financially contribute to that patreon effort
This will increase the team size.
patreon is good because it guarantees regular monthly payments to the creators, not just one time
