I have a K3NG V3.3 Rotator Controller from RemoteQTH. I also have a genuine Yaesu GS-232A. I am using the K3NG as a controller of a stock Yaesu 800DXA control box with interface to the 6-pin mini-DIN. I intend to use the Yaesu box with whatever I end up with (i.e. not replace the box).

I would prefer to use the K3NG, have them both working, but the K3NG for some reason (when turning CCW) seems to stop short 5-10 degrees off from the target it is given with the Mxxx command. When turning CW, it is 0-5 degrees off (and in both cases, the K3NG azimuth display shows this). The GS-232A is dead on in both directions. I am running the 2019-01-03 preconfigured version of firmware from the RemoteQTH website (although the 2015-02-24 version acts the same way).

About to give up and just use the GS-232A but was hoping to use that for a future G5500 satellite tracker setup.

P.S. and FWIW, from posts in reply to my own on the Groups.io Radioartisan forum, some others are experiencing the same symptoms, including at least one user who is using the box as a replacement for a rotator control box.

Any ideas, suggestions, or clues?

Thank you and 73,

Robert, WA2T
