What is missing?

Having MedusaConfigs in a namespace remote to the K8ssandraCluster causes a variety of issues around cleanup and complicates a variety of the orchestration of these objects. We should modify this functionality so that only namespace-local MedusaConfigs can be referenced within a K8ssandraCluster.

Definition of done

  • There is a new piece of functionality in the webhook which prevents creation of new K8ssandraClusters with a namespace field defined in the MedusaConfigRef ObjectReference field.
  • Release notes updated inc migration plan.
  • A finaliser is added to the MedusaConfig reference for every K8ssandraCluster that references it.
