Export to JSON crashes Chrome tab instead of exporting

When I click "export to JSON", the page sits there doing nothing(?) for some time, and then some time later the tab crashes in Chrome.

I figure the tab crashing part of the problem is in Chrome's court, but I didn't get a popup at any point asking where to save the JSON file either, so I think there is a problem in the web IDE as well.

I was hoping to use the JSON export as an alternative for searching for something. The browser's built-in search doesn't give meaningful results on the page itself, because it doesn't see the contents of collapsed tree nodes.
