lando init xxxxx pantheon - fails first time it runs in a new directory

The first time I try creating a new lando-pantheon site on my local dev in a new directory,
and I select the options I need for the project - always end up with an error message.

Immediately after - I type the exact same command and choose the same options,
and then the whole process go smoothly with no error messages - so it's successful.

Here's the error message I get when I run it the first time
(I tested it with both Drupal 7 and Drupal 8 sites)
