Switch to enable and disable Wifi networks of the UniFi controller #181
Comments
I have a use-case for this as well. I need my wife to be easily able to pause/resume the wifi ssid for our foster kids. I could then get a physical switch or a nfc tag setup to toggle this when I'm not home. |
I would really like to see this too. |
Yeah that would be cool |
Although I would also really appreciate this feature, I'm adding a little side note: Sadly, whenever the configuration of a UniFi access point changes, it re-provisions. This causes all its networks to briefly suspend. So, toggling WiFi networks would only smoothly be possible, if only one network exists, or a roughly 30 sec total WiFi suspension is acceptable in your environment! |
Without promising anything, I've more or less completed the refactoring and can soon start building out new features in the integration |
Great news! @Kane610 any update on where this sits in the backlog? I have an additional use case for using this feature to toggle on/off a guest wifi and when I toggle guest mode in HA. |
PR is up home-assistant/core#97204 unsure if it will make tomorrows beta cut off. |
PR had been merged Try it out during 2023.8 beta please |
I think a switch would be a good tool to be able to activate or deactivate a Wi-Fi network from the UniFi controller, being able to do it from Home Assistant without having to access the UniFi controller
