Currently we group logs for one day in a folder named
<yyyy>-<mm>-<dd>-logs
, like2022-05-17-logs
and then inside this folder, we have multiples logs files, that is - one log file for each test run. For example, if I run Azure test at 10 am my time and then at 11 am my time, there will be two log files and the name of the log files would be something likeazure-mgmnt-wkld-e2e-2022-05-17-10-00.log
andazure-mgmnt-wkld-e2e-2022-05-17-11-00.log
. Notice it has10-00
in the file name for 10 am and11-00
for 11 am. We can also include seconds to make it better to avoid clashes of runs within the same minute. Also, the name does not mention the timezone. This kind of naming helps with reading the log file name to understand what log it contains without looking at any other metadata inside or outside the file. What other ways could we name the log folders and files? And what other ways can we group the log files into log folders?Beta Was this translation helpful? Give feedback.
