Please Add Chrome Object Spy, Recorder, and Smart Wait Extensions to Google Web Store So That They Can Be Whitelisted

Environment (for Web testing):

Google Chrome 88.0.4324.150

Steps to reproduce:

• In a managed Chrome browser which is restricted to a whitelist of Chrome extensions, the application ID of each extension must be added to the extensions whitelist in the registry in order for that extension to be allowed by a managed Chrome browser (see https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/6177431?hl=en).

• Extension application IDs are generated when an extension is added to the Google Chrome store (see https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/7532015?hl=en).

• Please add the Katalon Object Spy, Recorder, and Smart Wait extensions to the Google Web Store, and modify Katalon to use the Google Web Store versions of the extensions, so that these extensions can be used in a managed browser with extensions whitelist.

Expected Behavior:

Google Chrome starts without extension warning/error, and the Object Spy, Recorder, and Smart Wait extensions are functional in a managed browser.

Actual Behavior:

Startup of Chrome in a managed browser environment (with extensions whitelist) results in an error dialogue box, and the Recorder/Web Spy/Smart Wait extensions do not function.

Any updated status on this? Katalon, we really need this to be a priority fix for Chrome, please help us. Please explain why Katalon allows unpacked extentions for Firefox with all versions but can't do the same for Chrome?? Thank you in advance for making this a high priority resolution for your customers, thank you.

In v8.0.5, Katalon Studio supports recording action using Katalon Recorder as a packed extension with user's Chrome profile. Please try it out.

@ccshubert In v8.0.5, we publish only for Katalon Utility Recorder. We will plan to publish SmartWait if this version works as expected.

Thanks for the additional info, @duyluonganh. Unfortunately, we can't be part of the testing at this point. We are a large branch of the Federal Government with organizationally-managed browsers, so until all of the extensions are packaged and available for whitelisting, we are stuck.

When recording, please click on the second option instead of the default one.

How do i get the file for the Recorder Utility extension so i can install it on a windows machine in a closed network? From the Chrome store I can't download the actual executable file, thanks for your help in advance.
