Does this support new entry creation?

I immediately installed keeweb-connect and tried it out.
To the best of my knowledge, the creation of a new entry from the browser is not supported yet (i.e., fill in a form, ask for password generation, submit and find the account created in the app).
Is this the case? Will this be possible in the future?

Hi! Entry creation or modification is not supported, you're right.

We might support it in future, for now you can use KeePassXC-Browser extension for this.

@antelle Are you sure KeePassXC-Browser is 100% compatible with KeeWeb? I already got one issue where the user was using KeeWeb. If there are any compatibility issues, maybe it's best to stop recommending our extension to KeeWeb users? Thanks :)

@varjolintu first of all, thank you for letting me know in a friendly manner!
It's indeed not the intention that users disturb you with issues of another product and that is what I was afraid of, but I thought it wouldn't happen. Since it's happening, I see that there's a misunderstanding that leads to these undesired effects, so I agree, better to not do it. I'll remove the checkbox and recommendation soon, so that unprepared users can't get into this situation and won't come to you with unrelated issues. Sorry for the inconvenience!

@antelle the problem then would go back to my initial message here: will we have the chance to push new entries into keeweb in any way? I have been using KeePassXC-Browser myself ever since, and I can't complain much about the integration.
Before, I was using another keepass extension and found myself happier with KeePassXC-Browser.

Maybe, in future.
The integration will remain for those who want to dig deeper, it's just that the installation will be more developer-oriented, in form of "you need to update the manifest yourself" or similar, instead of the checkbox that we have currently. This way users who don't understand where the bugs belong to won't pass naturally.

Hi @antelle, thanks for taking a look at keeweb/keeweb#1988 but I noticed it was closed citing the current task but there has been no progress on this one for more than an year and half.
Do you mind sharing what's the plan regarding this feature ?

It is pretty sad to hear. I moved to KeeWeb because of the nice layout but without this feature I already miss my KeePass + KeeVault extension even if it comes with a WinNT layout :)

@Grendizr Since this issue will not be worked upon, I settled on using keepassxc-browser , installation instructions are here https://github.com/keeweb/keeweb/wiki/Browser-AutoFill#keepassxc-browser but they are intentionally vague so you might need to refer to this issue as well for making the extension work.

And it has been serving me well for creating new entries and autofill as well.
