async reduce function?

I noticed that you used an async reduce function, which made me curious because I don't think I've actually seen that before... I was wondering how you use this? are you doing IO in your reduces? or is it just to enable passing an error?

Sorry! Managed to misconfigure notifications, and didn't get one for this issue.

Judging by the commit dates, this almost certainly fell out of flat-dependency-follower, though it's no longer require'd in that code.

I'll have a look at my notes and see if I can remember.
