Currently, HMR does not work if you run a browsersync proxy (own domain). Is then problematic if you want to build a page with a PHP CMS, which should run with Vue, React or Angular (HMR active). A refresh of the page is not enough, you have to compile the javascript manually.

The biggest drawback is the missing javascript hot reload, which could be annoying at SPAs.
