The thing is I bought a new synth, which does not have speakers - all it can is sending MIDI events. Velocity is important because I often press keys silently to check how they sound before adding them to the sheets (btw, why not add a feature: don't add note if velocity is less than say 20?). Release time is also important cuz now I have to do vibrato with keys to hold the sound.

It would also be nice if notes were highlighted on the screen even when input is disabled.

The idea with "velocity is less than say 20" won't do i think. It's extremely hard to press note with velocity below some threshold on purpose on some devices (on mine, for example).
