The problem with plugins is that they make your deployments dependent on the system used while deploying. Right now, a Kluctl project can be deployed from anywhere without any preparations, which I really like. This especially means that any Kluctl project will effortlessly work with the flux-kluctl-controller, which wouldn't be possible with plugins being used. In the future, containerised KRM functions might be an option, but I assume that it would require quite some work on the controller side. I'll create an issue for this feature so that I can keep track of it. Can you maybe describe what exactly your self-written plugins are doing? Maybe I can help with figuring out ways how to do it without plugins? |

What is the reason for disabling Kustomize plugins? Is there a possibility for enabling it?
Context: We currently use a lot of Kustomize plugins (written in python) to build our deployments. We do require some templating and have found that Kluctl could possibly fit in quite nicely to what we have today, but would require a lot of redo without support for plugins.
