Meteor also has a pure-js implementation of (a large part of) the mongo API.

I know it's not as feature-complete (e.g. no aggregation), but I was wondering if there has been a performance comparison between the two?

I am not familiar with Meteor unfortunately. My goal with mingo has mostly been to make it feature complete and closely compatible with MongoDB queries.
