I think this would be a more flexible approach to easily get any system information if in need for the future as well as improving code readability and maintenance.

psutils is not clear python library. It has binary helpers so. It is crossplatform it means not so light.
To use this library I have to write an python script/daemon for collecting frequency values...
I'm pretty sure psutils just shows interpolated values (I don't ever think a cpu have 50MHz steps)
