I don't intend to support loads of package registries within the repository (bower, jamjs, ..). If you use a different registry for your dependencies, others are free to maintain ports and redistributions as they see fit; but for now I'm sticking to a single registry, npm. Which is also what jQuery Foundation seems to be recommending for jQuery plugins.
