May 2022 Update 1

It's that time of the month! You probably don't need this update if you're on 2.5.11. This update is overwhelming just installer optimizations.

• Fixed file fetch code not using a timeout which could lead to hangs, also fixed it for making more connections than needed and optimized.
• Fixed various steps not using progress pages, making CMI's state ambiguous.
• Other internal functions for logging data for better troubleshooting if needed
• Removed some dependencies, now automatically installed if you install BepinEx.
• Re-organized Components.
• Added MoreRandomNames script.
• Added checks for reipatcher. ReiPatcher installs, even those removed, can cause malfunctions leading users to mistake it as CMI's fault.
• Added Chinese Simplified translations by 1101#1319
• Removed AnalKupa, outdated. We're a LoMob only family now.

April 2022 Update 1

Quite a few changes to CMI's code involving Github file fetching, mostly aimed at getting over their API limit. Updates to critical issues and so on and so forth.

• Possible workaround for Github API limit issues. Only afflicts those going through multiple CMI reinstalls within the span of 30 minutes.

February 2022 Update 1

Warning!!

Broken as of 3.13. Version 2.13 works just fine, if you are on 3.13, please wait for an update or manually fix your CMI be removing broken plugins. Alternatively you can try installing CMI's basic setup preset. You have been warned.

Advisory

A new official download site for CMI has been made: https://krypto5863.github.io/COM-Modular-Installer/

All releases will still be uploaded here as the site simply sources the files and data from this repo. You're welcome to use the site or the actual repo, whichever you prefer. For new users, we really suggest using the site so you don't download the source code or something...

Changes

• Updated MaidVoicePitch... again... Corrected a minor issue where FB faces horizontal eyeball slider wasn't working and swapped some structs to classes.
• Updated the CMIUpdateChecker. It's more reliable now and doesn't depend on my manual intervention for users to be notified, it just works with the GitHub API now. You may require your game to have firewall access btw as calls are now done internally using unity functions (linux players should be capable of using the plugin now too).
• Updated the installer itself with better update search code, better github file fetch code, and fixed some messages that weren't showing correctly.

November 2021 Update 2

Changes

• Fixed an incompatibility in MaidVoicePitch that caused DistortCorrect to not function.
• Fixed AutoConverter and optimized some heavy allocs, it's actually been broken for a while now. It should no longer be susceptible to enums sliding around in updates.
• Updated the readme with more performance hitters and known issues. Refer to it if you want to make the most of your performance.

Advisory

CMI now requires 2.9.0 or 3.9.0 to operate! English users on the latest version should also be fine!

Recently we've found a new way to diagnose heavy game stuttering or exceptionally bad performance (usually related to plugins). If you have bad stutters with a setup of CMI, kindly ping me in the discord server and I'll be happy to help you troubleshoot and hopefully identify more problematic plugins.

• Fixed the updater acting oddly and downloading an older version of the game, but it might break again as updates progress. Update manually if possible.

• Added the All Maids In Private Mode script by Pain Brioché, it's made to replace the patcher of the same name that recently became broken.
