Thanks. After doing an upgrade through the repository on MX Linux (Debian 11), the program fails to start. Opening via the terminal yields the following information: Starting LightZone version 5.0.0 beta2 ... Is there any action recommended on my part? |

I see that in the MX Linux repository there are openjdk-17-jre versions available. Could that be the one I need? |

OK - answering my own question: I went ahead and installed openjdk-17 alongside the other Java version and it solved the problem. |

@ktgw0316 Beta2 not in Ubuntu repository yet, see REPOSITORY HERE. Only up to Beta1 exist. Using Ubuntu 22.04 (Jammy). |

@ktgw0316 I have a new error message trying to open CR3 images on Ubuntu 22.04, see attached. Try this R7 sample from my PC --> Canon R7 |

I sometimes find a strange behaviour that when browsing through folders, changing from one folder to another sometimes produces no change, and the program fails to show the photos in the newly selected folder; as if it "gets stuck" in the previous folder. I wonder if anyone else has found this. |

@howardlshippin Yes, I was wondering why this was happening too. In my case, I widen the folder column to show the full name of the folder and clicked on the bigger folder name with success. I wonder if your column names are long as well and if you widen the column it will work. |

@ktgw0316 I was wondering if my Lightzone.desktop file could be the problem. It has CR2 designation for MimeType, but not CR3, see: |

5.0.0 beta2 on Windows 10 x64. Overall, this feels a lot slower than 4.2.4. Basic operations are frustratingly slow, like exiting edit mode with 1 tool on the tool stack (e.g. zone mapper or relight). Exiting is slow. Launching from lightzone.cmd from the zip. Computer specs below. |

@andrewk8 How many files are in your folder? It's an old known issue that if the folder gets too large LZ can struggle. I don't think that issue has been fixed. I notice the slow down on my Ubuntu desktop as well. Start LZ using cmd in windows to see what debugging/output shows and share if possible. Here is one showing Outofmemory that I received last night. Your problem may differ. I have 560 images/files in that folder, about 20 MB each. I have my prteferences maxed out in the LZ preferences. |

I installed the ARM version on my MacBook Air M1 in a sub directory inside my downloads folder. when I ran "lightzone.command" it produced errors so I moved the Lightzone folder to the desktop and it worked fine there. I then moved the Lightzone folder to the "Applications" folder and it also worked fine. I have OpenJDK Runtime Environment Temurin-21.0.1+12 (build 21.0.1+12-LTS) installed on this Mac so can also start Lightzone by running "lightcrafts-apple.jar" which does not open Terminal. Nice work on this release! Fast as lightning loading on this MacBook. |

Installers for Windows and macOS are not provided anymore. (See comments on #299). To execute LightZone, extract the zip file, then double click
lightzone.cmd
(Windows) orlightzone.command
(macOS).To install LightZone on Linux, follow wiki page, or use Flatpak package.
New Camera support
Note: Raw profiles for these cameras are not provided, so image contrast may be not optimal.
