It'd be great if there was documentation on how to directly query the adapter. If the horizontal pod autoscaler can't call the external endpoint and the external endpoint can't call the adapter it can be tricky to debug. It'd be nice to have docs describing how to directly query the prometheus adapter for testing.

Specifically how to query external metrics directly from the adapter
