jsonnet-bundler seems to resolve GitHub repositories to download links, so that neither a git binary nor a clone is used. This does not work for any kind of private jsonnet libraries support, so a git binary is needed and probably some kind of credentials functionality (e.g. argoproj/argo-cd#8820).
