Marker: His name is inscribed on a granite tablet in floor of fountain in front of Post Office, Danville. The memorial consists of a granite shaft with a fountain, topped with a bronze wreath of laurel leaves, the date "1776" and a four foot bronze statue of a Minute Man. The marker was placed by Governor Bradford Chapter DAR, and dedicated on September 3, 1915.

Coons, Capt. Samue Carhart, Capt. John Price, and Capt. Cornelius Schanch; Col. Asher Holmes, Col. Thomas Henderson, and Col. Cahart Walton. He served as Private, Sergeant, Ensign, Lieutenant. and Quartermaster.

Residences: After the war he moved to Crawford County, III. and settled in Palestine.
Service: Private; Pennsylvania: Virginia. He enlisted in 1777 in the Pennsylvania troops and was taken prisoner. He was hospitalized because of severe wounds.
When he recovered he enlisted in Berkeley County, Virginia in 1780 for three months, and again in 1781 for three months, serving as baggage wagon driver in Gen. Anthony Wayne's army.
Pension: Pension Roll, August 14, 1833, age 72. Pension Census, June 1, 1840, Crawford County, age 85. Susanna, widow, R572 Residence Robinson, Crawford County when pension suspended (Act July 7,1838) "Six months service allowed-proof of marriage deficient."

Residences: He came to Illinois in 1824, settling in Sangamon County. After a short period he removed to Madison County. His name appears in the census records of Madison County 1818, and 1820.
Service: Soldier; North Carolina. He enlisted in May, 1775 in North Carolina, under Capt. John Brannon, serving until 1781. He was in the battles of Stono and Bacon's (Biggins) Bridge; was taken prisoner at the siege of Charleston and held thirty days; was in Buford's defeat, the battle of Ramsour's Mills, Sumter's defeat at Hanging Rock; was wounded in the battle of Gates' defeat near Camden, and was in the battles of King's Mountain, Monk's Corner, Guilford Court House and Eutaw Springs.

BAKER, ISAAC
Born: August 6, 1758 in Fredericktown, Maryland
Died: September, 1849
Buried: Rochester Cemetery, Sangamon County, Illinois

Residences: He came to Illinois in 1828, settling in Rochester Township. During the Harrison campaign in 1840, Isaac Baker, over 80 years of age, rode in a parade through Springfield in a log cabin drawn by thirty-two yoke of oxen. The cabin was lined with deer and coon skins and a barrel of cider quenched the thirst of the campaigners.
Service: Private; Fifer: Maryland. His service was in Maryland as a fifer during the last two years of the war.
Pension: R414 (Md) Residence Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois when pension claim suspended (Act June 7, 1832) "for further specifications of each tour and service."
Marker: His name is on a bronze marker in the south mall of Old State Capitol, Springfield, placed by Springfield Chapter DAR, and SAR, on October 19, 1911.

Pension: Listed as pensioner in 1840 Census, Perry County, age 80. Susannah R644 Residence Perry County when pension claim rejected (Act July 7, 1838) "Not a widow at time of Act." She died before August 23, 1842.

BRADY, THOMAS
Born: In Pennsylvania
Died: Cahokia, St. Clair County, Illinois Spouse: Mrs. LaCompt (nee LaFlamme), born in 1734 at St. Joseph, Michigan. She came to Cahokia in 1770 and was a widow when she married M. LaCompt, which marriage produced a large French family. After the death of her second husband, LaCompt, she married Thomas Brady at Cahokia. After his death, she assumed the name LaCompt. She died in 1843 at the age of 109. Mrs. Brady understood the Indian language and was able to communicate with the Indians. She is credited with preventing attacks on the white settlers during the period 1771 to 1795 by walking out to meet the warring Pottawatamies, Kickapoos, and other tribes, often at night, persuading them to dismiss their hostile intentions.
Residences: Thomas Brady was a resident of Cahokia before the Revolutionary War. Hew as the first sheriff of St. Clair County.
Service: In 1777 he raised a small company of men from the villages of Cahokia and Prairie du Pont and marched through the wilderness to St. Joseph, Michigan. They captured the garrison, but returning, were overtaken at Calumet. Two men were killed and Brady was taken prisoner. The following year he escaped and reached Cahokia. He served under Colonel George Rogers Clark.

CHANDLER, DANIEL

Service: Private; South Carolina Continental troops. He entered the service in the Ninety-sixth District, South Carolina in February, 1776 under Capt. Jarret Smith, serving four months; in May, 1777, he served with Capt. James Lisle and Col. Jonas Beard for two months, and with Capt. Frederick Lipham for one month. In 1778 and 1779 he served with Capt. James Lisle and Col. John Lisle for over four months. In June, 1780, he served with Capt. William Smith and Col. John Thomas; was in the battles of Cedar Springs, and Musgrove Mill. He was in continuous service until the close of the war. He was made Lieutenant under Capt. Jermiah Williams and Col. John Hammond.

Benjamin Hinman's Regiment; enlisted in 1776 for one year in Capt. Theodore Woodbridge's Company, Col. Samuel Elmore's Regiment. He was discharged in April, 1777.
Pension: S35206 (Conn.). He applied for a pension while a resident of Wooster, Washington County, Ohio.
Marker: His grave has been marked with a tablet.

He served in Capt. Joseph Safford 's Company, Col. Ebenezer Walbridge' s Regiment from August 2, to August 8, 1781.
Pension: S16706 (Vt.); Pension Census of June 1, 1840, Knox County, age 80, residing with Custavus Volvridge.
Marker: In Oquawka Cemetery, Henderson County, placed by Mildred Warner Washington Chapter DAR, Monmouth, Warren County, on November 23, 1917.

Service: Sergeant; New York. He enlisted in 1775 for nine months under Capt. Richard Sackett and Col. John Thomas; in the spring of 1776 he enlisted for nine months. In 1777 he acted as Scout and was appointed Second Sergeant under Col. Frederick Weisenfeldt, serving one year. In August 1781, they marched south to meet Lord Cornwallis in Virginia.
