Valet Share fails - attempts to route to my DNS?

Not sure why this is happening today but when I run valet share, the tunnel won't properly connect, I end up with this screen when attempting to go to the ngrok tunnel:

the site exists and when I click on claims_server.app:60 it works. what seems to be extra strange is the fact that its attempting to route to my DNS (when I open network settings and change the DNS, 1.1.1.1:53 changes to X.X.X.X:53)

I've tried the following:

• uninstall valet && reinstall valet
• brew update && brew upgrade

im not sure where to keep digging to fix this problem. any help?

turns out its related to bug #736

adding 127.0.0.1 as OSX's dns and then putting 1.1.1.1 into the dnsmasq config has solved this
