Issue Description

Having a patch with rectangular boundaries is useful to study logical qubits protected under biased noise (See Game of Surface Codes Fig 2. for example). There are no

I think there are two cases to think about:

  • Multi cell patches (interesting for logical computation purpose)
  • Metadata to deform patch shape (account for biased noise)

However in the second case, determining the shape of patches might be the role of a decoder, that is aware of the noise characteristics of the device. As far as this package is concerned, patches don't need to be squared.
