See https://nuclide.io/docs/features/task-runner/ This UI is designed exactly for running compile/run/test tasks. I'm not sure if it's possible to integrate with it without requiring a full Nuclide installation.

Another related piece of UI from Nuclide is the Console panel for logging and REPL (sbt shell). It's a possible candidate to be integrated with the atom-ide-ui: atom/atom-languageclient#4
