Governance proposals are changes to the plasma contract that are held for 7 days before applied to the contract. They are displayed for all users to see on testnet and mainnet.

Add more detailed description for each type of proposal, so that it is easier to understand the consequence of the change

Scope

  • for each of the possible governance parameter change, show the human-friendly description (maybe hidden by default to reduce noise for power users) on how the parameter affects the network.
  • distinguish between different contract upgrade proposals (operator, exitHandler, bridge, swapRegistry). Again, use human-friendly description
  • show link to the contract code for contract upgrade proposals — maybe just a link to the repo for now until we have something like https://github.com/leapdao/network-governance/issues/17 implemented)
  • show link to the contract code for governance upgrade proposals
  • show basic token information (name, ticker, NFT or not, link to etherscan) for register token proposals

Hey @troggy

I was going through Leapdao docs and playing around with the testnet and mainnet, really impressed as this is my first experience with plasma. I also now understand governance proposals, I'd like to know, How can I lets say create a proposal on testnet. One way could be to put in a request to register a new token.

There's already one register token request on the mainnet but I'd like to make a few different proposals on the testnet and then work on adding the descriptions.

Also are you on leapDAO slack ?

An update so far:. I was not as familiar with plasma so was going through docs at learnplasma.org and leapdao docs. I also joined the leapdao slack and then also got to know about that to create the governance proposals on the testnet, I can ask some a few specific people with signing authority. RIght now I'm going through bridge-ui's code to understand what would be modified for detecting different types of governanace proposals and the proposed changes in them. Once this is done, I will discuss the specific human firiendly change to show. Please do reach out on slack or here incase of questions for me.
