Some functions and scripts for working with GIS in R.
These labs were created as part of an Urban Policy class for the Master of Public Administration degree at Syracuse University. They cover a basic introduction to GIS functions using R packages including:
- Load and display base map tiles from Google Maps (or other databases)
- Add point data to maps
- Create heatmaps to summarize data density
- Load and display TIGER shapefiles
- Create choropleth maps using census data
