For languages where a call to the server is needed to define word boundaries, it is possible that the user may select a word and then press an arrow key before the server has responded to a getWordSegmentation call. In this case, it might be courteous to show a tooltip saying "Waiting for server" or a spinner to justify why nothing is happening yet.
