@Kohze - you are up for a lab seminar on Monday 5 June. It would be good to have a mock of the whole website up and running, and a prototype of the data view page.

What we need to get out is as much constructive feedback as possible. To make that happen (as opposed to random opinions), we should ideally have a list of questions that we would like people to answer. I'll start the list below, please do amend as you see fit.

  • What features would you like to see?
  • Would you share your data through SpatialMap? Publicly? Privately?
  • ...

Feedback is certainly one of the most important things in this early stage, but im not to sure if we already get high quality ideas during the session (as they first need the chance to get a bit used to the possibilities of such a platform).

I therefore suggest that we show on the 5th the platform prototype, and how it is connected to the R/proloc envinronment and then in the week after it go around and ask the users what features they are missing in their analysis and what they would like to see. As with all other parts of the development, there are certain UX procedures to follow to get relevant/valuable feedback - I will refresh/add some knowledge in this area the next week.

  • The connection with R and pRoloc is a purely technical aspect that is of little interest to most, and that is not really up for discussion.

  • You have this lab seminar, not another one in a week. This is the chance to get many people at once. We will need to organise a smaller-scale meeting and get as many people as possible, but without guarantee.

I think I created now a engaging presentation (which focuses mostly on the beneficial aspects of the platform) that covers your points - I will show it to you tomorrow first in the morning. In case I missed something we probably have the time then to add/delete some last slides.

Great - see you tomorrow morning. I will be there relatively early, then have a short meeting at 10am, and should be back by 11am latest. If you have slides, could you add them to this repo.

My notes from the seminar:

  • request to be able to select components
  • desire to replace pRoloc for data analysis/visualisation - important to make it clear that it is not a replacement, but an addition.
  • integration with other data sources: HPA

Suggestions/Questions after the seminar:

  • sharing dataView session states (like filter selection) via link or saving it to profile
