I was wondering whether the Proteins object would be a good way to represent protein annotations (e.g. such as retrieved by Ensembld etc). See also jorainer/ensembldb#20 on that. Would be nice to have something equivalent to GRanges, just for protein data.

Well, I can't import from Pbase in ensembldb because Pbase imports Gviz which imports biovizBase which imports ensembldb. So we have a nice circular namespace loading (see also issue jorainer/ensembldb#21).

Eventually AAStringSet with additional annotations in mcols might suffice; only problem is that protein domains on the protein sequences can not be represented directly.
