Error reading files over 10Gb from a 7z archive #913

Basic Information

  • Version of libarchive: 3.1.2-11
  • How you obtained it: Ubuntu package libarchive-dev
  • Operating system and version: Ubuuntu 16.04, package version 3.1.2-11ubuntu0.16.04.3
  • What compiler and/or IDE you are using: using precompiled bibnary

If you are using a pre-packaged binary

Description of the problem you are seeing:

  • What did you do?
  • What did you expect to happen? I expected to read the full content of the file (~55Gb)
  • What actually happened? After reading approximately the size of the compressed archive (10.8Gb) it returns ARCHIVE_FATAL
  • What log files or error messages were produced? Just ARCHIVE FATAL returned

How the libarchive developers can reproduce your problem:

  • What other software was involved? No other software except Python wrapper is involved
  • What other files were involved? No other files except linked in the description were involved
  • How can we obtain any of the above? Use the links above
