CardDAV sync does not work with DAVdroid (Android)

It seems, that contacts+ is also affected by the following bug:
owncloud/contacts#581

This bug is the root cause for CardDAV sync problems with the default Owncloud contacts app:

And unfortunately on my testing environment, I encountered exactly the same behaviour with contacts+. CardDAV sync does not work with DAVdroid (widely used app for CardDAV/CalDAV sync in Android):
