I've got a libsixel Fedora specfile approved and ready to go (see notes in dankamongmen/notcurses#641). I let this languish when I decided against using libsixel for Notcurses, but now that it's active again, this seems worth doing.

I'll try and get it in Rawhide this weekend.

One problem when I first submitted it was that my copyright attributions and licensing descriptions were incomplete; there are apparently several licenses in use (mainly in wrappers).

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1936772 is the bug for review.

@dankamongmen interesting times. I was almost to ask in the original repo if the project is dead, but then found this.

I wanted to make use of libsixel in the client side of Contour myself (to convert from RGB to Sixel) in order to provide a convenience command contour image IMAGE_PATH but then realized that libsixel lags quite some platform support, including Fedora.

Looking at the above link, it seems that it's about you giving more feedback there? What's the state, or did you give up?

Cheers,
Christian.
