On the Fairphone 4, Android 12, Build number FP4.SP1Y.B.041.20230109 with App version 8.0.0 (released 12/16 2022) the gesture control for "back" that can be enabled in the android settings causes an issue.
When trying to move a piece on the a- or h-file, swiping from the edge of the screen inwards, either the app goes back, which is somewhat expected as this is the gesture's purpose. But when canceling that gesture by not releasing the finger and moving it back to the rim, the piece stays in the enlarged state with the big grey circle around it. I then have to tap on some other piece of mine to try again execute the move, which is suboptimal, especially for bullet.
I think the app should overwrite the os's gesture and carry out the move by dragging. This is how chess.com's Android app handles it just fine.
Thank you to all open-source developers who develop Lichens. I want to be clear that this request is not in any way intended to be ungrateful. It's amazing that a free and open chess platform can in many ways be better than its for-profit competitors.
